The final version of the GSI PAWN SHOP sign.

This is the final design for the GSI PAWN SHOP sign in Tooele, Utah.

I started by trying out some different fonts just to see how they looked. We ended up going with Futura Bold, a classic sans serif font.
These were some of the iterations from the first round. In most cases it is best to work in black & white in the beginning, even if you know the final colors. If it doesn't look good in black and white color isn't going to help it.
These were some from the second round, I was still working in black & white at the beginning, then stared experimenting with colors towards the end.
These were some from round three, at this point the main design was pretty much set, but I was still trying out various colors and elements. The one at the bottom is a little larger, because there was a possibility that we would get rid of the marquee, and just have a bigger sign, but decided against it at the end.
The old sign coming down, the new one is waiting on the trailer.

Here it is lit up at dusk.

I really like this shot, because not only is it lit up, but in the background are a pair of signs mounted on the front of the store from a previous project.
